Index Corporation and NHK's jointly developed mobile video application, `Mojie,` launches service linking entertainment and mobile
Tokyo, Japan, December 10, 2007 - Index Corporation (President: Yoshimi Ogawa, Head Office: Tokyo, Hereinafter: “Index”), an Index Holdings (President: Masami Ochiai, Head Office: Tokyo) subsidiary and operator of “Sokuho Music Search,” an entertainment driven mobile site, has joined with NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) (President: Genichi Hashimoto, Head Office: Tokyo) to launch new services capitalizing on the “Mojie” mobile phone application. “Mojie” was jointly developed by Index and NHK to enable its users to conveniently “search,” “read” and “view” video content using the mobile phone. Services launching on December 10 allow NTT DoCoMo “Mojie” users to access some of their favorite NHK programming through the “Soku M.tv” menu corner.

“Search Mode”
“Search Mode” references archived Meta data to rapidly locate requested material. Program content is conveniently displayed through easy to view thumbnail images with accompanying captions that feature program titles chapter names and more.
“Read Mode”
“Read Mode” literally enables users to read through the captions and thumbnails of a video. Use the arrow keys to quickly scroll through caption text, which is previously downloaded and remains accessible without network connectivity. Click on any thumbnail of interest to enter “View Mode.”
“View Mode”
“View Mode” allows users to simultaneously enjoy high quality video and view caption text. Specific video scenes are searched for and located referencing caption text in fast-forward or rewind.
Looking forward, Index aims to provide a diversified range of video content via the mobile phone which enables users to “search,” “read” and “view” their favorite scenes from a wide selection of television programming.
About “Mojie”
“Mojie” allows mobile phone users to view television program content on demand. It is the first mobile phone application produced from a partnership formed in May 2007 between Index and NHK to jointly develop mobile services. “Mojie” was featured at the “Mobile & Internet TV Awards 2007,” which were sponsored by MIPCOM and held in Cannes, France. The event is the largest annual visual content trade fare of its kind, and “Mojie” competed against more than 280 projects, submitted from 38 countries. “Mojie” received honorable mention along with entries from England and Korea, which were all praised for their technological advancement and user friendliness.

The “Sokuho Music Search” catalog boasts more than 10,000 songs and expands by over 100 new titles every month.
